Mike Mekash has had a passion for art since he was a kid. He started his career as a graphic artist in Washington state for the skateboard and snowboard industry.

After getting the call to come to Los Angeles in 2000 to be the lead designer for Tinsley Studio, he began the next phase of his career drawing tattoos for film and television shows. After hard work parlaying his skills as an artist into becoming a makeup artist, he has had the pleasure to work on such films as “John Carter”, “Iron Man 2″, Mad Max- Fury Road” and recently, “Guardians of the Galaxy-Volume 2”.

He has been fortunate to received 11 Emmy nominations and 3 Emmy wins. “The Normal Heart” non-prosthetic makeup award, and for “American Horror Story” in both prosthetic and non-prosthetic categories. He continues to design tattoos and skateboard graphics from his home studio in Burbank, California. He also still enjoys an occasional skate session.
