Ryan Turek is a long-standing member of the horror community and was the managing editor of ShockTillYouDrop.com.

In 2000, he began writing for Creature-Corner.com (an appendage of Chud.com), establishing his voice and wide connections in the horror genre as a journalist and critic. And in 2004, he co-founded DreadCentral.com before contributing to print outlets such as Fangoria, Rue Morgue and Creative Screenwriting.

Turek helped establish ShockTillYouDrop.com in 2007, a site he supervised the creation of with Coming Soon Media and was allowed to operate with full creative control. Since its birth, the site is one of the leading horror entertainment destinations on the web.

Over the years, Turek has served as a studio consultant on a number of horror projects and appeared on DVD special features, at horror conventions and on television programs discussing the genre (G4, VH1, Weekend of Horrors, San Diego Comic-Con, Huffington Post Live, What the Flick?, Most Craved, “His Name Was Jason,” “The Crazies,” “Hatchet”).

In 2010, he wrote and directed the documentary on the Scream franchise, Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective. It was released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment on Blu-ray in 2011.

In addition to operating ShockTillYouDrop.com, Turek co-hosted the popular Dead Right Horror Trivia Night, with Fangoria’s Rebekah McKendry; the weekly podcast, The BloodCast (with Clarke Wolfe); and he hosted various programs via the Shock Till You Drop YouTube channel.

Through a new film partnership struck between The Orchard andShockTillYouDrop.com in 2013, Turek was allowed to wear his “acquisitions” cap by finding and helping horror films land wide distribution. Movies include: MISSIONARY, THE CANAL and PRESERVATION.

He’s currently the director of development at Blumhouse Productions.
