Yes, but it will be searched by security.

Can I bring my camera to take photos and video?

Yes, non-commercial photography and video is allowed throughout Midsummer Scream EXCEPT for select presentations and performances that will advise prior to the start or entry. Please respect any vendor, guest, or other individuals who do not wish to be photographed.

Also, you may not sell any photos taken at Midsummer Scream except at the permission of the event owner. Otherwise, please take lots of pics and post them on social media with hashtag #midsummerscream!

Will there be food options at the event?

Yes — there will be several concession stands selling food, coffee, and other adult beverages throughout the event. Additionally, there are numerous food options within walking distance of the convention center.

Will there be ATMs available?

The Long Beach Convention Center has a limited number of ATMs available.

Can I leave the event and return at a later time?

Yes, as long as you have a valid wristband you’ll be able to re-enter the event. Please note you will be required to go through security checks each time you re-enter. Exceptions will be made at the discretion of Long Beach Convention Center security.

We encourage all ticket holders to arrive early and allow extra time for parking, credential pick up, and security processing. Tickets

Do I need to print my tickets?

No, we will be able to scan the barcode from your phone, but we strongly advise you do so in case of any internet service outages.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We strongly advise purchasing in advance, as last year’s show sold out. If Midsummer Scream is not sold out, we will have tickets available at the door for purchase.

I lost my tickets or they were never received - what should I do?

If you can’t find your tickets please follow the instructions outlined here from our ticketing service, Universe. If you’re still unable to find your tickets, please contact support@universe.com and include the name and email your tickets were ordered under.

I'm no longer able to attend - can I get a refund?

Due to the Covid-19 situation, we have amended our refund policy for tickets purchase for our 2020 event.

Tickets purchased for Midsummer Scream 2020 are refundable through July 30, 2020.

If the 2020 event is cancelled or postponed for any reason, tickets will be valid for our next event (2021 dates TBA). Purchasers will also have the option of obtaining a refund through at least July 30, 2020. We encourage purchasers to hold onto their tickets in order to retain any applied discounts/pre-sale pricing.

To obtain a refund please submit a request here. Please allow up to three weeks for processing (most refunds will apply much sooner).

For additional ticket issues please contact creepyla@gmail.com and include the name and email your tickets were ordered under (or as much detail as you can provide).

As stated in our ticketing terms during purchase, we do not offer refunds for any reason.

If you know in advance that you cannot attend, we recommend selling your tickets to someone else, or gifting them to someone you know who will use them.

My name is on tickets I gave to someone else - is this a problem?

No problem at all! Tickets can be redeemed by anyone holding them. Once scanned at check-in, tickets are bound to the ticket holder and are non-transferrable.

Can I upgrade my General Admission ticket to a Gold Bat Pass?

No. Unfortunately, our ticketing system does not allow us to offer ticket upgrades or changes of any kind. If you wish to upgrade to Gold Bat, we recommend selling or gifting your existing tickets and purchasing your Gold Bat pass(es) as soon as possible, as they will sell out.

Can I switch my single day ticket for another day?

No. Unfortunately, our ticketing system will not allow for date changes, upgrades, or downgrades to purchased tickets. If you wish to purchase different types of tickets, we recommend selling your current one(s) via social media or gifting them to someone you know will use them, and purchasing your new tickets as soon as possible.

Can a weekend ticket be shared (one person use Saturday, another person on Sunday)?

No, each ticket is for one individual only.

What's the difference between a General Admission (or GA) ticket and a Gold Bat Pass?

A General Admission (or GA) ticket gets you access to our show floor with over 300 exhibitors, admission to over a dozen mini haunts and attractions in our Hall of Shadows, and access to dozens of panels, presentations, live performances, and more.

With a Gold Bat Pass, you get all the perks of a General Admission ticket along with one hour early entry (doors at 10:00 a.m. for Gold Bats on Saturday and Sunday), priority access to panels and presentations, front of line access to select attractions in the Hall of Shadows, admission to the Saturday night party, Midsummer Scream After Dark, and collectibles including a lanyard credential and an exclusive limited-edition Gold Bat enamel pin.

Children

Does my child need a ticket?

Children 10 and under get free General Admission access with a paid adult admission, with a max of 2 kids per adult.

Please note, if you have a Gold Bat Pass and want Gold Bat perks for your child, they will need their own purchased Gold Bat Pass (no matter what age).  Any accompanying children would have General Admission access but no Gold Bat amenities unless they possess a Gold Bat pass purchased for the attendant child. Make note as well, Gold Bat Pass tickets (and GA) are non-transferable once scanned upon entry and only eligible for use by the pass holder.

Is Midsummer Scream kid-friendly?

Kids 10 and under get in free, but parental discretion is advised!

Midsummer Scream does not tone down the scares in order to be kid-friendly. However, we do have an entire area especially for kids, Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch, with family-friendly performances and programming all day, including magic acts, balloon sculptures, and face painting, as well as ongoing arts and crafts projects throughout the weekend.

Costumes & Weapons

Can I wear my costume/mask/face makeup?

Absolutely! Costumes and cosplay are highly encouraged as long as they are safe; please use common sense.

Law enforcement, convention center security, or Midsummer Scream representatives may deny entry in any case related to public safety.

If you are wearing a mask, be advised that you need to be able to remove it if/whenever asked by law enforcement, convention center security, or Midsummer Scream personnel.

Please also review our prop weapons policy!

What is the prop weapon policy?

No prop firearms of any kind are allowed inside the Long Beach Convention Center. No metal swords, axes, chainsaws, or anything with a sharp edge, pointy tip, or that is blunt and heavy (i.e. a wooden or aluminum baseball bat) that could cause harm.

There will be a “weapons” check point for other costume items which resemble weapons. If your cosplay weapon does not fit the safety guidelines you will not be able to bring it into the convention center. Our staff and security have full discretion to deny entry to anyone carrying a prop weapon they deem unsafe for any reason.

This policy is strictly enforced as safety is priority for our guests.

Midsummer Scream After Dark

What is Midsummer Scream After Dark?

Midsummer Scream After Dark is our annual Saturday night part, taking place after the show floor closes.

How much are tickets to Midsummer Scream After Dark?

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance here.

Note: Tickets are already included with the purchase of the Gold Bat Pass.

Is Midsummer Scream After Dark for ages 21+?

The party is intended for an adult audience, however, all ages are allowed.

Be advised: every attendee MUST have a ticket, even kids (including infants)!

Miscellaneous

How much are autographs?

Short answer: we don’t know! Celebrities and others signing autographs set their own rates and do not inform Midsummer Scream ahead of the event.
